How to Market to Local Businesses

Internet Marketing has changed dramatically over the last year.

If you've been following the trends that have been occurring over the last year, then you know that it's no longer about promoting "make money online" products or services in order to build your online business.

Look no further than Google to see what I mean:
  1. They discourage affiliate marketers from even advertising on their search engine by penalizing affiliate web sites and closing down millions of affiliate Adwords accounts.
  2. They have modified their algorithms to favor local businesses in their organic search results
  3. They have placed heavy emphasis on Google Places to feature local businesses in their organic search results
Google knows where the money is and that is why they have been making these dramatic changes to focus more on local businesses.

And we can either go with the flow or be left behind when it comes to the latest developments in internet marketing. And, we can fight against Google and struggle to be successful with our business, or use Google to help us build our business.

There are 3 main obstacles that people face when trying to start an internet marketing business. They are as follows:
  1. Competition
  2. Time
  3. Money
But these 3 hurdles to our success can be basically eliminated when we GO LOCAL and help local businesses grow.

All it takes is getting outside of our comfort zone.

Let's face it. One of the reasons we like being an internet marketer is because we like the idea of hiding behind our computer, sitting in our underwear, and hopefully earning a nice living online.

But those days are GONE.
